Exam week... UGH! ha, funny how it always comes down to his week in american education society. Even if you're all caught up, it still seems to suck the life out of you... good thing this is the last semester of classes for me. No more observations, no more tedious assignments, hello summer and National Guard at the end of the Summer...

First, I cant explain how fun it is to have been allowed to observe the art class at North Star Academy.

Second... I played with Prezi... and it is awesome! If anyone hasn't tried it, go to www.prezi.com and check it out. WAY more fun in almost all aspects that Microsoft's Power Point.

I went for a day to North Star Academy. What a school. The way they tend to each child and put their IEP's first...kool. the program is awesome. many students have disabilities. this school contains everything from extremely talented to ultimatum situations for some students. I watched Jessica Vitale student teach with Joy in the art room. It was a good time. they used technology too, because the students had done so well and got so much done, they were allowed to watch a movie while they finished up their projects. YAY!

I have decided to no student teach next semester. Whether it will be to work and save money or if i can i will be joining the national guard. I am so burnt out from school this semester, i just don't feel that my mind is in the right place nor will it be by fall. I know that having a summer off can change a lot, but i need more than that before i get completely re-indulged in an educational aspect. I want to be gung-ho for student teaching and teaching in general when i have to do it.

I got permission from Joe Lubig in the Education department to take even a year or more off to be involved with the national guard. I have wanted to join for a long time and i am looking forward to doing so more than i can explain.

I went in and watched a very brief time of the art class. it will be fun. I will be getting all my hours in, in a short period of time. I don't have the ability to make it to an hour here and there of class to observe so i will need to do a couple big chunks. This is what i have done in the past and this seems to be the most informational and educational to me because i can apply all the education i have learned this semester to my observation hours near the end. I just don't have the transportation ability. Plus i like to get a taste of all the different students with the same teacher in a day.

I have decided I am going to observe an Art Class. I visited it and i know the teacher. It should be a fun journey as i know nothing about art so i will be able to focus on the behaviors and the students more than the subject. Plus i will get to observe my brother. :-)

I wish Second Life wasnt so laggy everytime i get on it... even when i am at home or on at random hours i always lag out within minutes no matter what world i am. It would be much more encouraging if i had a chance to actually enjoy the program.
